Messages for Max From Chi-Town

Jack (left), Chris (right) and Lynne (camera operator and sister of Uncle Mark) Peckham wanted to send a special message to Max from Chicago! They got creative with construction paper and created a 'cubs baseball-style' sign for Max to say hello and let him know they are thinking about him everyday.  And, they had a little fun with Max's name too! They miss him and look forward to another turkey bowl game soon! For those that don't know, it's become a family tradition with the boys to play flag football on Turpin's football field early afternoon of Thanksgiving, hence the name the turkey bowl.

If you have pictures, drawings, videos or letters to send to Max while he is in treatment, email Aunt Sarah (meyerou@hotmail.com) and I will post them to the blog or email them directly to Kristi if you prefer.

  2. Kristi,

I have been following your blog since Kris Miller and Becky Kelly have asked us to pray for your family. Our son Matthew had a bone marrow transplant December 19 not for the same illness of your son but a very rare auto immune blood disease. We were on the BMT floor at Childrens from September 13 until January 12. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to speak with you. Dr. Davies is a wonderful doctor she was not our primary doctor but she did rounds and saw our son several times. Max is in the best hands at Children's. It is an overwelming experience and we will pray for Max and all the other wonderful families that you will meet on the floor.

  3. Thank you, Mary Beth. It is nice to know someone who has so recently been through what we are about to embark on. I may give you a call sometime soon to "pick your brain". Thanks so much!

  4. Kristi - can we help out at all with Alex at Preschool? Our sitter would be happy to watch him in the afternoon on school days if it would help! Just have Karen tell my mom or call me! We are praying for you but know that you are in great hands at CCHMC..

  5. Max and the Meyer family,
I just heard about Max's illness and want to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Mrs. Newton gave me the web site and I just read the entire blog about Max's journey. If I can help out in any way let me know.
